Story:
Lao Zhang, Tomas and Shaotian are overseas employees of a large Chinese company. They were stationed in Peru, sharing a four-bedroom apartment. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in South America, they were confined to their apartment in accordance with local quarantine policies and overseas management regulations of their headquarters. The company continuously monitors employees' daily activities through security monitoring in the dormitory. Meanwhile, Tomas's cousin, Han, arrived in Lima as a tourist and stayed in a hostel just before the declaration. Because Peru seal country incident suddenly, han also trapped in the apartment can not leave. But to no one's surprise, Peru's outbreak quickly deteriorated into one of the worst in the world, and the initial two-week lockdown gradually extended to months with no prospect of lifting the lockdown. Xiao Han witnesses a series of events in this endless confined life, and eventually moves toward a tragic but inevitable outcome...

Director‘s Statement:
I arrived in Peru in early January 2020 to begin a 3-month advanced Spanish course at the Peruwena Language Institute in Lima and then plan to travel to other countries in South America. At that time, no cases of COVID-19 had been reported in South America. However, due to an unexpected outbreak in Peru, on the evening of 15 March 2020, the President of Peru declared a state of emergency nationwide lockdown. Like thousands of other foreigners, I was stuck in Lima for more than five months. During this period, I got to know many employees of Chinese companies abroad and learned how they lived their lives during this special period. I have seen firsthand how easily human society is affected by political policies and the spread of the virus, and how people's bodies and minds are affected by external factors. COVID-19 is a new and sensitive issue for all of humanity today. No matter where you are or who you are, you are experiencing the same crisis. I want to share this special time in my life with others, hopefully connect with more people, and try to pass on a sense of hope that people who are trapped here know that they are not alone.
