Story:
Fujian, Guangdong, and Hainan Province of China have always been called “southland”, and the homeland of the protagonists Malaysia is in the south of southland. This short film is set in Kuantan, Malaysia in the 1980s and portrays a Chinese family that has fled to Malaysia from Vietnam. Amid centuries of turbulence, their attitude towards eating has almost become a ritual.
