Director‘s Statement:
Redeeming others is the only way to redeem yourself. As each lone atom moves closer to the other, the resistance between the two slowly turns into gravity. Only by treating another with love can we feel the power of love, find our own meaning, and solve our own dilemmas. After spending time with her great-grandmother, You Zi Ye begins to reflect on her relationship with her family. She always shirks from such stark realities. She began to understand this relationship when she became the only thing to look forward to in her great grandmother's blank life. The dream about the crocodile in the film is YouZi Ye's inner subconscious: you have to face the inner hurt - this is the only way to grow up - only losing the fingers can make the crocodile grow tail again.
