The bombing of Chongqing by Japanese forces in World War II is known as a disaster that resulted in numerous civilian deaths. In war, attacking civilians is never tolerated. This was enacted as an international law in reflection of the tragic World War I and other wars. However, more than 100 years later, civilians are still being killed in Russia-Ukraine war. Why do they kill innocent civilians who just love their daily lives? To prevent such a tragedy, we must listen to the grief of war-affected civilians in our own country, in our neighboring countries, and around the world. And I storongly hope that there will be no more civilian casualties. |
