Diana LU

MFA in Directing from the China Academy of Art, mentored by Pema Tseden (Jinpa, Balloon) and Hsiao-ming Hsu (Dust of Angels). Her work explores contemporary existential and spiritual crises through a polysemous cinematic language, seeking to extract metaphysical spaces from the fabric of everyday life. Centered on the theme of “loss,” her creative process engages with the socio-cultural realities of an era gradually sinking under its own weight. She remains deeply committed to observing and illuminating the lives of the overlooked—especially those living in states of uncertainty, transition, and impermanence. Her work has won Best Film at the Malatya International Film Festival, and has been selected by festivals including the Tiburon International Film Festival and the Middle East Women’s Film Festival, among others.
