The purpose of this film is to explore the pervasive loneliness experienced by modern individuals, stemming from factors such as family and work-related pressures that have diminished interpersonal communication and strained relationships. In light of these considerations, I opted to portray my protagonist, Yu Yu, as a young manual laborer—an emblematic figure in contemporary Chinese society. Through an encounter with a mysterious girl, I strive to represent the emotional dilemmas he faces without attributing them to a singular cause, thus authentically capturing the inherent complexity of these obstacles.
