ES#3：Cyborg's Desire

Drawing on Foucault’s notion of “rupture,” the postmodern cyberspace is itself that rupture. Electronic machines reshape humans into cyborgs: the cloud extracts all data, yet it emphasizes the need for memory rather than memory itself; prosthetic limbs and tech make the body an Other; visual perception is altered by flickering images. We are both passively and actively exposed on social platforms—trapped yet freed by others’ gazes, and it is precisely in this rupture that we “become ourselves.” Cyborg desire involves various borderline contents (indicated by asterisks). The core questions: How do sexual discourses and images construct our desire? What experiences do they offer? How are we constituted as subjects who can love and feel toward images? We will explore the generation mechanism of cyborg desire—your desire and mine—and invite you to step into cyberspace with us to uncover the most hidden emotional mechanisms within.
