When I was a student, I did some research on Fujian folk customs. When I was reading the paper, I accidentally discovered such a group. I called my parents to ask about this, but no one remembered whether anyone lived on the river. But in fact, they have been living on the Jiulong River, and no one has paid attention to them. When I returned home and visited these houseboats and their temples, I was surprised at how difficult the living conditions here were. Then, I discovered that the people living in this settlement have a kind of hope, which is a way of dealing with themselves that they must learn from the frustrating life experience in the past. This kind of hope has the characteristics of gentleness, calmness and strength, but the glimmer is shining.
