Divine Intervention

The starting point of Divine Intervention comes from my observation of anxiety in the digital age. In a highly connected online environment, people constantly seek ways to improve themselves and organize their inner worlds, while also becoming constrained by invisible expectations and self-imposed demands. I transform this psychological state into the symbol of tangled hair, a visible trace of anxiety manifested through the body. The “Soul Cabin” in the film is inspired by the imagination of inner spaces and spiritual healing found in Eastern folk beliefs. By placing traditional rituals alongside digital technology, I create a space between spirituality and technology, reflecting on how the desire to be healed, preserved, or liberated from personal limitations may also lead people into another form of control. In the making of the film, I combine 3D animation with live-action footage to create a visual language that moves between the real and the virtual, revealing the blurred boundaries between psychological states and digital spaces. Divine Intervention does not attempt to answer whether technology can replace the soul; rather, it portrays the complex relationship between individuals, belief systems, and technology as people search for an escape from anxiety.
