The story was inspired by my mother and sister. A mother and daughter bonded by blood, but because of the inescapable control and rebellion against expectations produced subtle changes in the relationship. With the emergence of “employment relationship”, “living expenses” has transformed into “wages”, and the identity of mother and daughter seemed to become the outermost emotional shell. I hope to use everyday situations to demonstrate the pain of life in this intimate relationship. In terms of short film format, split screen narration is adopted. Different from the previous use of split screen to enrich visual information, the split screen narration of the whole film is naturally suitable for demonstrating a group of intimate relationship “bedfellows”. Whether the two people are doing the same thing or in the same space, they are always separated from each other’s frames and cannot escape such constraints.
