Awaken
Release Year:
2017
Story:
Centered around fishermen in my hometown, “Awaken” is an experimental film exploring the subtle relationship between human beings and nature. It shows the struggles of fishermen by depicting a fishing boat waiting sea ice to melt. The absence of dialogue in the film leads to a distancing effect. The entanglement of subjective and objective perspectives as well as the ethereal location sound stimulate the viewers’ sensory and visual perception.
