Dayu Temple was built in the Yuan Dynasty and is located in the north of Zhouyuan Village, Sudong Township, Hancheng City. Legend has it that during the time of Tang Yaoyu and Shun, the Yellow River was flooded. In order to relieve the floods, Dayu spent 13 years outside and stayed outside. The ferry crossing the Weihe River has a history of many years. An important means of transportation travels between the two banks of the river. The construction of the Sanmenxia Dam made the change of the Weihe River no longer as the ancients said "the west of the river in thirty years and the east of the river in thirty years." The accumulation is serious. The villagers of Xinyu Village in Dali County chose to plant land on the Yellow River beach and build their villages in higher terrain. They called it "pile planting". More than ten years after the Sanmenxia project started, the Yellow River beach was deserted, and the troops stationed there had conflicts with the local farmers, and the villagers were still working hard to change their living environment. Another area that is deeply affected by the Sanmenxia Project is the ancient city of Tongguan, which disappeared due to the government's wrong policies. However, the water level after the impoundment of Sanmenxia has never reached and submerged Tongguan. Now it has become the Venice Hotel and the Yellow River Fish Barbecue. The garden is even more sparsely populated. Ma Jianwen is a folk poet in Fengdong Village, Huayin County. He moved to Qinghai that year and only had a high school education. However, with a sense of mission and independent thinking ability, he wrote hundreds of poems in 40 years. Poems, depicting immigration and life in exile, are as small as him, still insisting on the big dream of returning home. Water governance has always been a manifestation of the political achievements of Chinese leaders. However, with more and more water conservancy projects coming one after another, do leaders see the crisis hidden under economic development?

Everyone’s dreams and hopes are different, but there is a group of people whose dreams are the same, that is, to return to their homeland and homeland. Because of China's first water conservancy project, they did not have the right to choose. They sacrificed themselves and protected the interests of the country and other people. Time has passed and most of them are now in old age. Forty years of living in exile and several relocations and reconstructions have left most of them in poverty. The once richest land in Guanzhong has been flooded with ecological deterioration. The disaster relief funds allocated by the state have not been implemented by the grassroots.
During these forty years, they moved and built their own homes with their own hands. While we saw hope, we were also exhausted by the cruelty of reality. We did not choose the living environment of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and its surroundings because it is only the front end of things. International public opinion has already given strong attention. As China’s first dam, Sanmenxia has already formed huge practical problems. These problems cannot be ignored. , We are more concerned about the humble people who used to be brave enough to devote themselves. Therefore, we chose the most severely affected Weinan area as a breakthrough, carpet-like statues for them, and drawn a picture of life in the Longjuanjing city of Qingming River.
Dashui as the name of the film is inevitable. Because we photographed the Dayu Temple, which commemorates China’s first water control hero, Dayu, the ferry that was born by the water, the Xinyu Village where the piles were planted, the ancient city Tongguan that disappeared due to water, and the folk poets who had grievances with the water Ma Jianwen, Sanmenxia, the first dam in China. As an important image symbol, water runs through the narrative of the film, forming internal metaphors and signs. It is hoped that water will eventually surpass itself to achieve a kind of philosophical and life thinking, and produce some touches. I think this Is what I want to see.
