On the fifth eastern ring of Beijing is the Beijing Songtang Hospital, a hospice established by a joint venture between the Buddhist Pure Land Sect and Buddhist priest Li Songtang. Songtang Hospital is like a boat in time and space that is about to reach its end. The wards are cabins. The old people who are launched inside the corridor of time are the hurried passengers on this ship. Facing death, they have different attitudes, and thus show various states of life.
