In a city that worships money, there is a group of people who still insist on living the philosophy of "people are not living on food alone." Instead of choosing to live in seclusion, they choose to actively enter the world, improve their hearts, and influence others through artistic creation. Huang Congyu, the creator of digital ink painting, thought that computer science would bring him a bright future when he was choosing a course in university. However, after enrolling in school, he found that his ambition was not there. Therefore, he followed the ink painting master Wang Wuxie to study on his own. The ink and wash tradition creates its own direction. After going to London to study digital art, he opened up a new world. His creative technique not only breaks the general public's notion that Chinese painting is an old-fashioned thing but also allows the audience to understand Chinese painting from a new perspective. He combines the essence of Chinese and Western cultures. His works have been selected for the Hong Kong Art Biennale for the third time. The choreographer Zhou Peiyun, who broke the boundaries of watching dances, worked tirelessly to create different performance modes. Her choreography work "Boundary Street Map" created an interactive experience. This dance broke the Hong Kong audience's mode of watching dance for the first time. Passively appreciate the performance, the performance venue has been transformed into a standardized and unlimited environment. This innovative interactive viewing experience surprised even the officials of the government's cultural department. This performance has set a record of 100% occupancy rate for local dance programs. She rebirth the lost enthusiasm of the audience, and also rebirth our time. Director‘s Statement:
Living in Hong Kong, a capitalist-led, profit-oriented, and materialized city, it is easy for people to become a "one-dimensional man" (one-dimensional man), only in the materialistic rational thinking, the material level Things react, and then slowly lose themselves and others.
This is certainly not the true nature of human life. Ancient philosophers have told us that "people live not on food alone" (Matthew 4:4). The Greek philosopher Plato believed that human beings are naturally capable of pursuing "truth". "Perfect". And "beauty" is enough to elevate the spiritual realm of mankind to the peak of perfection, enabling mankind to complete a sound personality in the process of spiritual upgrading.
Including "beauty" seems to be the way out for mankind. In the search for "beauty", art occupies an important position. Because art makes us kind, our feelings can be expressed, and it leads us to penetrate the dull and noisy earthly sounds, bring people's hearts into peace, and enjoy a moment of comfort and rest.
Through two half-time artists living in this floating city, they demonstrated the philosophy of "people live not on food alone". We can choose not to be a "one-faced person". All this depends on how our "heart" chooses. As the so-called "precursor of all dhammas", that is, "the heart is" the root and "essence" of all "dhammas". All our actions and speeches are led by our minds. Our minds are quiet and power is immediately followed. Come. The two artists not only find themselves through creation but also influence the people around them. Therefore, I hope to record the mental journey of the two and hope that this film will enable the audience to lead a pure and beautiful world, in this era of constant disappearance, and at the same time realize its rebirth.
