Story:
The film tells the story of how with the development of the times, the number of people listening to Peking Opera is decreasing, and the performances of Shuangyin are gradually decreasing. Director‘s Statement:
When it comes to the original intention of filming this movie, director Fangqiang's grandfather loved to listen to and sing opera. However, nowadays there are no longer theaters on the streets like before, and his grandfather no longer sings or plays the erhu. Few people pay attention to Beijing Opera anymore, and few people specifically listen to it. Therefore, Xu Fangqiang chose to create and shoot micro films in his hometown through public welfare, hoping to arouse people's attention to Beijing Opera and further promote our national essence through a film. At the same time, as graduation approached, the director began to think about his own way out, whether to adhere to his artistic creation direction or cater to secular views. The director integrates his own experiences and difficulties into the film, focusing on traditional culture. However, he does not simply talk about how glorious and urgent it is to revive traditional culture. Instead, he focuses on the actual experiences and psychological conditions of the group of people who are reviving culture. Compared to realism, realism also reveals a sense of fantasy and dreaming.
