Story:

During the summer vacation after the college entrance examination, Liu Zihang who had failed the exam of acting was confused about his future. He was wondering if he should accept the undesired offer or take the exam again. During this time, he stole his father’s car and went to a club to have fun with his friends, which made him excited and got rid of the anxiety. In the club, his friends made fun at his failure in the exam of acting, which pissed him off. He then decided to find the acting tutor who he admires.

Director‘s Statement:
As an art examinee who has retaken the exam, I found that most art examinees from small cities have a strong desire for their dream schools as well as big cities. At the same time, the desire for the big city is often projected on a mature and elderly tutor, the two kinds of desire are similar and mixed. In addition, what desire points to is an impulse to step into the adult world. Driving a car that symbolizes a sense of family space and the power of masculine, expressing love to a teacher, and deciding whether to retake the exam for the dream school, all of these can be a tragic leap with an urge toward growing-up. However, the leap is also vulnerable.
