Huo Meng

Huo Meng was born in Taikang, Henan Province, in 1984. In 2002, he was admitted to the Communication University of China to study law. In 2006, he started to pursue a master’s degree in filmmaking there. His short film HONGGUANG’S HOLIDAYS won the Best Narrative Short Award at Beijing College Student Film Festival. In 2018, he completed his second feature film CROSSING THE BORDER — ZHAOGUAN. Following its premiere at the 2nd Pingyao International Film Festival, the film was selected by multiple international film festivals. In 2020, the film was chosen by Carlo Chatrian and Jia Zhangke to be part of the special programme “On Transmission” at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival and won him wide acclaim.
