Pema Tseden
Pema Tseden (writer/director) is a Tibetan director, screenwriter and author. His writings include Temptation, The Color of Death and Tharlo. His literary works, which have been translated into languages including English, French, German, Japanese and Czech, have received numerous awards. Tseden began his career as a director and screenwriter in 2002. His filmography includes The Silent Holy Stones, The Search, Old Dog and Tharlo, all of which are part of the dGenerate Collection at Icarus Films). His films have been selected for and awarded prizes at the Venice International Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and other major international film festivals. Most of his films have been shot in the Tibetan language, and he is widely acknowledged as the first to have done this.
