Qiu Sheng
Qiu Sheng was born in Hangzhou, China. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Tsinghua before getting an MFA in film at Hong Kong Baptist University. Qiu has taken part in the Golden Horse Film Academy and Berlinale Talents. His feature debut SUBURBAN BIRDS (2018) has been selected for Filmmakers of the Present Competition at Locarno Film Festival and more than 20 other film festivals. The film won Best Narrative Feature at Xining FIRST International Film Festival, Best Feature Film at Novos Cinemas Festival, and two NETPAC Awards at International Film Festival and Awards Macao and QCinema International Film Festival.
