SHANG Qing
Born in Jiaozuo, Henan in 1997, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Film Creation under the Film Studies program from Sichuan University of Media and Communications. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Film Directing at the Met Film School in the UK. I am a young filmmaker.
I have directed short films such as "June 1st," "Murderous Intent," "Catheter Institute," and "Blue Indigo Melody." My screenplay and directorial work, "Catheter Institute," won the Best Foreign Language Short Film Award at the 2022 Barcelona International Film Festival and was nominated for Best Young Director, Best Foreign Language Short Film, and Best Trailer. It was also selected for the "Light of Universities" section of the 2021 Berlin International Short Film Festival, officially recommended at the 2022 MIFW (MAO) International Youth Film Week, entered the main competition unit of the 3rd Xinxiang·YiKuai Art Film Festival 2023, and was a finalist in the main competition unit of the 6th Hunan University Microfilm Contest.
My screenplay and directorial work, "Blue Indigo Melody," was a finalist at the 11th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival, the 43rd Paladino d'Oro Sport Film Festival in Italy (where it was nominated for Best Film and ultimately won the Special Prize), the 2nd SHISW Shanghai International Short Film Week Cui Lin Short Film Award (nominated for Best Student Short Film), the non-competitive unit of the 3rd Xinxiang·YiKuai Art Film Festival (where it received the Honorary Award for a Position), and the 13th Macao International Movie Festival.
As an Executive Director, I have worked on Tencent's S-grade web film "The Mermaid," and as an Assistant Director on "Taste of Fig" from Zhengwu Yangguang's "Photosynthesis Project," the award-winning short film "Millennium," the short film "Fox Comes at Night" supervised by Director Yang Chao, the graduation project "Mimosa Pudica" from the Art Center Design College in the United States, and the feature film project "World Map."
From August to September 2020, I worked as a Director, Screenwriter, and Editor at Cyber Friends (Beijing) Film and Television Culture Company. In December 2020, I was responsible for film screenings and post-screening exchanges at the Hainan Island International Film Festival Exhibition Team. From November 2021 to March 2022, I served as a Director and Screenwriter at Beijing Wanhe Tianyi Film and Television Culture Company. Since 2023, I have been engaged in independent directing, executive directing, assistant directing, and art entrance examination education.
