Wu Jianxin
Wu Jianxin (born July 1969) is a Shanghai-based scholar, modern visual artist, and documentary filmmaker. Born and raised in Nanning Guangxi, he graduated from East China Normal University in 1994 with a master's degree in law. After graduation, he has worked at designer, journalist, editor, and journalism photographer. As a university professor, he teaches documentary production, journalism photography, TV commercial production, experimental cinema, etc.

In 2010, FuXing Park, Wu’s first feature, was selected by the Young Cinema Section of 5th Yunfest. It was also nominated for Humanities Award at the 1st Phoenix Video Documentary Award in 2012.
In 2012, Ninth Uncle was selected by CNEX Annual Theme
In 2013, My Home was My Castle was selected as one of the CNEX annual thematic production. In the same year, it was awarded the best proposal in the CNEX Chinese
Documentary Forum (CCDF), and entered the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) Forum. Its oversea distribution rights were sold to several international organizations, including NHK and TV Danmark.
In 2014, Ninth Uncle was premiered in Taipei. It was also nominated for the China Documentary Research Center Award.
