Xu Xiao
Xu Xiao
Xu Xiao, a freelance producer, graduated from Southwestern University, China. She also pursued studies in Taiwan and the United States. Worked at CNEX Documentary Foundation from 2016 to 2021, she participated in the production and distribution of several award-winning documentaries, including “Plastic China”, “China’s Forgotten Daughters”, and “Singing in the Wilderness”. Xu Xiao served as a line producer of the documentary “Hard Love”, which was released in China in 2022. Other documentary projects that she has produced include “Chinatown Cha-Cha”, “The Fading”, and “Monster”.
In 2022, Xu founded WOMEN DOCU, an initiative aimed at providing support to female documentary professionals. In addition, she was selected into the Producer Lab program at the FIRST Film Festival in 2023.
