Story:
This film is about the graduation and youth of Chinese young people. In the fall of 2021, a group of Chinese students came to the UK with great expectations from their families. Their one-year life brought them several and various changes in terms of love, career choice and family relationship. The new fall is coming. This is a graduation season, also, a season for them to make a choice.

Director‘s Statement:
In fall 2021, I quit my job in Beijing to study in London. With the expectation from my family, I wanted to

look for

an opportunity to make a great achievement. However, my life hasn't changed much, I just made some films that nobody cared about. I didn't become a real filmmaker. Love, family relationship and career are the three most important problems we are facing. Based on this classification, I chose three friends who are very important to me. Mengjiao is my best friend. She is always hurt emotionally because of her body shape and cultural differences. In China, large-size girls will encounter serious discrimination and even violence, which leads them to feel inferior. At the same time, Mengjiao has been unable to really integrate into the western "date" culture. She values every date and looks forward to it, but only gets disappointment. For Xinhong, the pressure from parents became more serious after the epidemic. More than half of the Chinese people took the national examination than in previous years, perhaps because people don't want to face the unexpected career and the fear of not knowing when the next income would come. Meanwhile, Xinhong's parents never encouraged him, which made him think about how to find freedom. Finally, when I saw Wanqing again, she is much more silent than in high school. This girl, who is devoted to journalism, is full of enthusiasm and thinking about the world. She wants to do more for the world and help more people through her own words. In China, where news censorship is very strict and special, she doesn't have many opportunities and always be threatened by the police. However, there are still many young Chinese people who want to fight and change their predicament, and Wanqing is one of them. The problems of these three friends come from different levels, but they constitute the whole youth. This film is naturally intimate. At first, I chose to record their lives objectively, while gradually, because of our close relationship, they would naturally talk to me behind the camera and even asked me questions. Therefore, I chose to invite them to talk to me freely and freely. At the same time, I also told them that they were free to take the camera and shoot me. Although I deleted many parts of our dialogue in the film, the film is still full of interaction. I hoped that the characters can forget the existence of the camera and let the audience have the experience of observing directly behind the camera. In order to make this interaction more reasonable, I edited my story as the opening to introduce everyone, and connect the whole film in series with my voice over. Therefore, this film is very vivid and lacks a sense of distance.
