How far is the city in the countryside? For families like Zhang Zhili and Yang Xiuqing, it is more than just a ticket, a journey. As urban immigrants, they can neither shed the soil from the countryside on their feet nor put on the glamorous coat of the city. On the fringe of the city and on the way back and forth between the city and the countryside, they are always looking forward to urban life and yearning for the recognition and acceptance of the mainstream society, but the actual situation is extremely embarrassing. Their children were born in the city as the second generation of urban immigrants. They received education and inherited all their dreams and hopes for granted. They even possessed the urban household registration that represents the city's ID card. And can these really shorten the distance between the two homes? In the long journey of "changing cities", how much do they have to go? Who is blocking between reality and dream, and who is opposing? The two families tossed and turned, should they go back to the countryside again, or stay in the city for the last time with their fate? Every choice is so difficult...

Director‘s Statement:
At the train station in every city, you will see many farmers leaving the land and entering the city every day. It is for the livelihood, for one's own future and destiny, so as not to let the next generation suffer like themselves. They are like dandelions, after falling into the city, they are attracted by the colorful life of the city. They saw the huge difference in qualitative and cultural life between the city and the countryside and felt the difference in life brought about by the city, all of which prompted them to stay in the city desperately.
The gap between China's urban and rural areas is getting bigger and bigger, and the regional differences are getting smaller and smaller as the flow changes. These rural people who have appeared in the cities abandoned everything they had originally and came to a foreign land with dreams. They do construction, deliver milk, sell snacks, work as waiters, and work as cleaners... They work tirelessly and take on the dirty, hard, and tiring work that people in the city are least willing to do. They are soberly aware that they suffer from poverty because of their lack of culture. Therefore, they do everything possible to work and make money, just to create good opportunities for their children to study. I hope that my children can get out of poverty, pass university entrance exams, and live the life of urban white-collar workers in the future. This film will enter the life of two rural families who came to the city. From this moment on, the colorful modern city began to replace the homeland in the mind. In order to integrate into the life of the city, for the beautiful dream in their hearts, they gritted their teeth and persisted... but the two families did not expect that this brand new city would not accept them! There is still a gap between reality and dreams. Who is blocking and who is opposing? They tossed and turned, should they return to their homeland of raising themselves, or should they fight their fate for the last time to stay in this new city? Every choice seems so difficult...
In this film, the audience will have face-to-face contact with these two families to experience their bitterness and helplessness.
