Director‘s Statement:

At the beginning of 2023, I saw a piece of news about the UK prison system. There, the issue of detention and rehabilitation of elderly prisoners has always attracted much attention. Some people have asked whether these elderly people who are no longer harmful to society can be allowed to return to society early under the conditions of parole? However, more people point out that the key to the problem lies in how to resettle their lives outside prison, because some people simply unwilling to get out of prison, they have long been institutionalized by prison and time.

So that’s the time when I got inspired and started being interested to research such a topic. And then I came up with my protagonist, Mossi. 30 years ago, he committed a crime to his family accidentally and went to jail. He works as a librarian in the prison library, a kind person and doesn't talk much. People call him Uncle Mossi. But he is thinking where to go and where trying to get himself settle after he gets out of the prison as the releasing date is coming.

This group is easily abandoned by their families, is prone to psychological problems, and has a high suicide rate. But they still need to be concerned by the society. The Librarian would like to talk about this subject and explore it, to issue this concern to the public.
