Along the Railway
In the Spring Festival of 2000, a group of homeless people gathered on the garbage platform near the railway station in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. They come from all over the country and are of similar age. During the day, they wander aimlessly in the city and live by the railway at night. Usually they pick up some rubbish and bottles thrown by passengers, and then change to eat. Among them, Zhou Fu lost his money and ID card on the way home from the city where he worked; the other two Bruce Lee and Huo Hongchang (Firefox) both ran out of the house; Xiao Yunnan was caught by his boss after working for three years. Dumped; Feng Xiang ran out because of conflicts between the marriage and his family. After six months, most of them were gone. It is rumored that someone saw Zhou Fu strip off his clothes and dance on the street. Bruce Lee was adopted by a policeman. He might be considered lucky because he started to make money by opening a roast lamb shop. Little Yunnan became the king of children. Firefox was sent home, but soon ran back. Feng Xiang was arrested for stealing. Life along the railway continues, even though it is more like a play in the eyes of most people.
