Director‘s Statement:
Women stories almost entirely silenced. Throughout my upbringing, I have experienced and witnessed countless cases of domestic violence around me and in society—none of which were ever properly resolved. These abused women are our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, or even ourselves. They endure violence and intimidation in their own homes, trapped in a distorted cage, powerless to escape their marriages and emotional torment. As a filmmaker, I want to use my craft to change this reality and convey hope.
Her Last Day realistically depicts the confined existence of women, but it is not a story devoid of female strength—it carries the power of rebirth, challenging stereotypes and rewriting the narratives of victimhood, passivity, and self-pity often seen in both reality and film history. I hope this work is universal yet potent, using the gentle but unwavering strength of women to pierce through the unrelenting shadows and darkness.
