Release Year:
Story:
Focus Filmmaker Huang Wenhai: Director Huang's works are often praised for their "powerful portrayal of life," vividly sketching the life portraits of complex groups against the backdrop of an era, from the artists in "Sleepwalking" to the intellectuals in "We." Immersed in the world of documentaries, viewers catch glimpses of the remnants of an era and revisit a segment of independent film history. Director Huang Wenhai's new works are being successively released on CathayPlay. In addition to Director Huang Wenhai, we have invited two guests for this Focus Filmmaker Forum to discuss the creation of independent films. Through the perspectives of creators, curators, and scholars, we will start from the director's independent documentary history and the concept of "Independent Film Festival" to talk about the significance of independent film festivals, explore creation in the current environment, and jointly seek the present and future outlets for Chinese-language cinema.
