Li Yuhe studied Directing at Beijing Film Academy. Before moving on to writing and directing a series of crime shorts that won him attention from film festival circuit, he had also been acting in an award winning theatre play. Absurd Accident is his feature debut. His crew shot the film within 24 days on a slim budget of 300,000 USD.
