LIM Kah-Wai
Kah-Wai Lim was born in Malaysia in 1973 and is currently based in Osaka, Japan. After graduating from Osaka University, he worked in the telecommunications industry before enrolling in the directing course at Beijing Film Academy. After graduation, he made his feature debut in Beijing, an independent production, After All These Years in 2010. The same year, he directed Magic & Loss in Hong Kong. New World (2011) and Fly Me to Minami (2013) were both made in Osaka, and Love in Late Autumn (2016), was a commercial film that was released to the public throughout China in 2016. In 2018, Lim shot his film No Where, Now Here in the Balkans. He returned to the Balkans to shoot his seventh feature film Somewhen, Somewhere. To conclude his Osaka trilogy, he made Come and Go in 2020. His work has been screened at film festivals around the world, including Tokyo, Osaka, and New York. He continues to make films that transcend borders and nationalities.
