Lianlian Shen, graduated from the MA Cinematic Aesthetics program at Suzhou University in 2014, has worked as an in-depth news reporter, advertisement salesperson, and English course consultant. She also served as a judge for the Beijing College Student Film Festival and as a film critic at Suzhou Daily newspaper. She has demonstrated great acumen for spotting the symptoms of macroscopic moments and the existential struggle of individuals during our times. Her 2019 short film Apologizing entered the Atlantic International Film Festival. Her first Documentary, Mask, is in post-production now. Chang’E, her second feature drama that explores the life dilemmas of a suburban Chinese woman, has been officially selected by Lucca Film Festival and FICBC.
